Visegrad Fund

The Fund is an international donor organization, established in 2000 by the governments of the Visegrad Group countries—Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia to promote regional cooperation in the Visegrad region (V4) as well as between the V4 region and other countries, especially in the Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership regions. The Fund does so by awarding €8 million through grants, scholarships and artist residencies provided annually by equal contributions of all the V4 countries. Other donor countries (Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States) have provided another €6 million through various grant schemes run by the Fund since 2012.

In response to a need expressed by people in Valbona, Gjelaj, Dojan and Bajram Curri to better manage trash disposal, this forum focusses on bringing representatives from the municipal government to the table, to work with local people to find a solution to waste management in rural areas and villages.

The Community Forum takes place the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. The focus is to bring together members of as many communities from around Tropoja as possible, in order to facilitate the functioning of a strong "people's voice."   In the forum meetings people are welcome to share ideas, confront threats, explore opportunities and support each other on relevant issues.

Forums often have a "focus" issue, addressing some concern which was raised by community members:  the need for trainings, problems facing communities, or opportunities they would like to work together to seize.  Any stakeholder is also welcome and encouraged to attend.
